A big hey there to all Canadian and US coin collectors... Here's my dilema.. I have a load of Canadian coins ( all extras) to sell..Complete collections of half, nickles, cents and a bunch of singles......
Question is... How do you think I should sell them...1 by 1 , as lots , as collections.... It will help me a great deal to know how you all think, then I can post them in the sell forum..
Thanks to all who toss in their 2 cents....

Here is a thought...... Start a sell thread for each denomination, list the coins for each with approx. grade and price, have people contact you for pictures, discuss volume discount with interested party?

You know, there is no right way or wrong way to do this.
However, as you want to achieve sales, I think it likely that you would have more success selling them one by one or in small groups. A full collection is nice, but often collectors here seem to be filling in spaces. There may be people thinking of branching out and starting a new country or denomination, sure, but I think this happens rarely.
I have seen people selling selling them singlely with some degree of success, however; witness the recent "Barber Blow Outs" and the like. Small lots seem to be selling okay as well.
There is always the auction feature as well, and it seems to me that if you have quality coins, that may be the way to go, especially if you set a minimum price you would be willing to consider.

Thanks for the quick suggestions... Ya maybe 1 by 1 is the best route to take.. Dont think lots of people want to fork out thousands is 1 shot.. Ok so regardless of how I do it , auction style or straight prices do I list them all in the same place.... I'm asking because I put up a super high grade 1864 and dont seem to be getting any attention

For your "Top End" stuff, contact a dealer you trust, i.e. Louis of CCCS and let him know what you are parting with. Dealers of his size have "want" lists from clients and may be able to assist as well.

Here's a suggestion that pertains to the New Brunswick coin you have listed: Pay the substantially low fee (when the value of the coin you are looking to sell is taken into consideration) and have it slabbed by ICCS or CCCS (not debating these companies here). You're just not going to get the attention the coin may deserve without it IMHO.

High-end stuff doesn't usually go here, because most people tend to keep their purchases to under $100.
Your NB dime is a superb coin, but, alas, is probably out of the price range of most here. Not a lot of people seem to be collecting Canadian Provincial stuff, and you would likely do better consigning it to a dealer you trust. Chequer is 100% right -- the coin is so superb, it should be slabbed. I would then place it with a dealer you trust on consignment so that it gets the exposure it needs in the marketplace where it would most likely sell, i.e., urban Canada, for sure.
As to your other coins, if you are going to auction, one thread per coin or lot of coins. Straight selling, a list all in one place ought to do the trick.

Once again thanks to all.. I was going to offer my Newfoundland $ 2.00 gold here but looks like it wont sell considering the high value ( certified AU58 by NGC.. Maybe I can try the dealers... How long do I have to leave the 1864 New.B up...is there a time limit or can I just ask to have it removed?

hi artdio. you can ask to have it removed if you want to. or just edit your title to say ENDED or PLEASE REMOVE at the end. I sell a lot of Canadian stuff here on the forum. Not as high value of course, but I have done quite well with selling individually. For the higher valued stuff you may still need ebay to gain a much wider audience to your post. good luck with your sales!

Even if some of us can not afford to buy some of the coins like you have artdio, we do love drooling over the pictures.

You have some real beautiful coins.. artdio My advice to you is to start off with less expensive coins, and work up from there, like WpgLwr said, most on the forum will probably not buy a Newfoundland $5000.00 gold coin. Just take it slow and easy, and see what happens. Good Luck. BTW.. If you what to cancel anything off, just use the (send note to staff) on the bottom of the page for faster results.

So I will head over and ask staff to remove a couple things...
