I'm baffled why people bid on such an obviously damaged coin.

with all the "error" coins on ebay I am tempted to list one of mine, the obverse in stamped on the reverse side of the coin and the reverse is stamped on the obverse side! Its a 1998 LMC, wonder how much I could get for it.

I guess the error was the seller listed it as an error.

I think the error is that he didn't go quite far enough with the sandpaper!

He also hammered the edge just enough to roll it over on one side. An amazing error that would look great in an SGS slab ;-)

Do you have any idea how rare that would be?! An SGS slab graded MS-69?!?! Heck, that might even make MS-68! And with SGS slabs, grades under MS-70 are hotly sought after by collectors due to their extreme rarity! This is my SGS "MS-63" 1894-S Morgan, one of only three known MS-63 slabs from SGS, with zero population in lower grades. I'm joking...but have you ever seen an MS-63 SGS slab?

More than likely a clothes Dryer Coin, the rolled edges are an obvious sign.

Yeah, I know, it was slabbed SGS MS-65 at first, but I cracked it out and resubmitted it until I lucked out and got a lower grade!

Seller says it would make a great gift, hopefully it isn't a gift to another coin collector from an unknowledgeable person.
