That it did but:

1. I was 3 hours and 12 minutes late and the results we not posted yet so I figured a guess would be ok with everyone due to the fact Thursday was Thanksiving.

2. You may notice that immediately preceding Shaft's guess he asks am I too late. My assumption is that he would like to participate, but is ok with a ruling that decrees otherwise.

3. Why do you care you got your guess in on time?

There's a reason for the end time rule. Many of these rounds are based on currentlly running auctions. The end times are designed so that people can't watch the auction & post the ending amount as a "guess". The rules were hashed out over the first few seasons by everyone that was participating on those seasons. I believe in following the rules. Any exception to any of the rules is solely up to jbuck.

Having said all that, I care for 2 reasons.

My strategy has always been to place my guess close to the end of the round. I have had several guesses "capped", where someone placed a guess either right above or right below my guess. There's nothing against the rules about it, but I like my guess to have as much room on either side as possible.

The second reason is that I have missed deadlines myself. It's not fun when it happens, but it's part of the game.
