Update: I enlarged that pic, and added a certified 1914-D. The gap looks too big, and I haven't seen a 1914-D mintmark that high. hunter20ga Pillar of the Community United States 1173 Posts	Posted 11/17/2009 8:19 pm I found a cent like that back in 1965...no lie. The gap between the 9 and the 1 was just too large. I suspect someone with a great deal of skill reworked a common 1944 D? My Aunt Francis accidentally reintroduced that cent into circulation in Kountze, Texas...so maybe it landed in your lap all these years later.
