Very impressive indeed, but I can use those large numbers when my wife thinks I have too many!

I always feel like a freak when this topic comes up. I shy away from hard numbers but you would need a forklift for the wheats alone. At a sturdy dolly should cover the rest.

As of this very second, and God bless excel:
World coins: 10,219 (of those 6,261 still in storage in England the rest are here with me in Thailand -- I sure miss them!). World bank notes: 1,833 (fortunately all here with me).
As for value? Totally irrelevant to me.

Before I put the number out, I need to make sure I clarify, I collect everything. I collect US coins as just another country in the collection. I have bought tons of bulk lots over the years on ebay (I've been on ebay for over 12 years). I've gotten a lot of things in trades from here. My excel spreadsheet lists 38326 items. This includes coins, some tokens, sets, and banknotes. Obviously there are some duplicates in there. I also have a huge tub of foreign that I never cataloged (see my "Who Wants to Trade their Foreign Junk" thread).

I may be a bit paranoid, but I choose to opt out of this question for security reasons John1
Not at all paranoid. Most of us just are not thinking about tghe security risks involved here. Many of us members do not think we can be easily traced to our homes. All not so you know. For one thing just clicking on your name at the left gives us all the omer, Michigan and Age 46 and a male. Doesn't sound like much but with all the people search places on the internet, many people can be traced with such minor information. For example a TV station tried those people searches for fun and used the CIA as a goal. They ended up with the main office's address, phone numbers, amount of people employed there and much more. So to have fun I guess they spent a few dollars on those search forums and fount the many local branches of the CIA, employees names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and lots, lots more. Naturally after that broadcast all that was removed. Your right. Better to be safe than sorry. I thought this would be fun so I went there and entered the names of people I used to know as far back as grade school and found most of them. Gave many a call and was shocked at how many wanted to know how I found out their phone numbers since they were supposed to be unlisted.

That's easy...1. All my coins got stolen a few years ago and I'm having a hard time getting back into it. I do like looking online and reading the boards though :)

just carl, thanks for coming to my rescue. I thought I was the only one that thought twice about giving out to much info. Just for the record I keep my better stuff "off premises" and I don't really know how much other stuff I have. John1

since I only collect coins from Yugoslavia and the states that were part of it, my collection is small by comparison. I think right now, including some various tokens and medallions and whatnot, my collection is just under 600 coins. Still working on updating my currency catalogs, but I would guess that to be around 300+ pieces. And then another 2000 or so stamps to round out the collection.

I would say I probably have 1000, but a lot are modern rolls.
