I woulda said a 1933 Double Eagle. However, with a few more of them possibly coming on the market I wouldn't wanna take the a chance on it's value dropping.

My second choice would be a 1913 Liberty Head nickel. That would be a safe bet.

Do you mean one type of coin, or all you could own is one single coin?

The unique 1877 gold half union pattern, if it ever comes onto the market.
Rest in Peace

That octagonal gold $50 piece from 1915, I think Pan-American Exposition coin. Might as well throw in the 1804 silver dollar while we're asking!

I thought all the original eight or so pieces were melted and never kept-that there was and will only ever be one.

Someone want to let me know?

How about a 1739 wavy hair PCGS MS63 10$ gold piece, for say 930,500 laaaaarrrge!

I was getting oil changed today, grabbed a 2011 sports car digest magazine, and the first thing I turned to was an add for this site below, very odd. On the magazine add, it had a 1804 MS65 wavy hair $10 gold coin which sold for 1.7 million and once was worth like 50 grand back in 1980, absolutely crazy....

Thought it was neat that this site specializes in rare hard to find high grade coins, way out of my price range of course....

http://www.coinace.com/TenDollarGold.aspx

I don't think it is a big surprise either and just smarts, that a website for very rare high dollar coins would advertise in a magazine full of 6 figure sports cars....

A nice dekadrachm of Athens would do me fine. The Seltman example was sold to the Hunt brothers decades ago for $10 million. At least I have Seltman's book on 'Greek Coins', and I know what the coin looks like.

I would buy a 1909 S VDB in MS 67 Red. If you're buying I'll email my address and I'll even pay the shipping AND insurance!

considering that owning a 33 double eagle is illegal, id go with a 19090 S VDB Lincoln Cent in MS-69 red with amazing blue and red toning

Since $1+ million coins are just not realistic for me, I'd have to go with what I think has high slobber factor.

And that would be a '55 Lincoln DDO. 5 slobbers!

The difference being, I will own one some day.
