just a ball park figure. How many coins are in your collection? I was going to ask how much your collection is worth, but I thought it might be tacky.

I would like to know myself. Will be much easier to count them once the album pages arrive.. though I might have won if you asked for the most worthless collection of the forum

According to my coin database: 9156 coins, banknotes, tokens, medals etc. That doesn't count my Australian or New Zealand decimal coin collections, so add another couple of hundred for a more accurate total.

Sap ... that's not a collection, that's a HOARD!

I don't have mine that well catalogued, but I would ballpark around 4000~5000. That includes bags of wheats and tubes of Merc's and Buff's.

Best guess, I have around 1,000 coins in my collection. 90% of that is probably bullion value silver.

Way to many to even begin to estimate. I know I have well over 3,000 Mercury dimes alone. I did count 1943 Lincoln Cents not long ago and had 2,650 of those. It is even getting difficult to count Albums with over 100 of them and basically all full. I do know I have 9 of those long Red Boxes for 2 rows of 2x2's and those too are full.

1287 in my "British royal portrait gallery" collection;
373 in my "Former Soviet family" collection;
2848 in "The rest of the world" collection.
Total 4508 coins (all different types).

I may be a bit paranoid, but I choose to opt out of this question for security reasons

Updated count coin: I have been working on the Half Dollars...

Updated Security Update: Almost all of these are in Safety Deposit Boxes. Point taken by the responders to this post.

Good question!

I started counting,

In Dansco books and 2 x 2 flips:

Half Cents: 34
Large Cents: 112
Flying Eagles cents:5
Indian Heads: 99
Lincoln cents: 268
2 cents: 10
3 Cents: 4 Silver
3 Cents: 24 Nickel
Buffalo nickel: 133
Liberty nickels: 73
Jefferson nickels; 190
Barber Nickels: 92
Seated Liberty dimes: 70
Mercury dimes: 121
Roosevelts: 140
Barber quarters: 75
Seated Liberty quarters: 18
Standing Liberty quarters: 44
Washington Statehood Quarters: 55
Washington quarters: 252
Capped Bust Halfs: 44 55
Franklin Halfs: 44
Kennedy Halfs: 84
Barber Half: 88
Seated Liberty Halfs: 56 75
Walking Liberty Halfs: 106
Eisenhower dollars: 35
Morgan dollars: 224
Peace dollars: 25
Susan B Anthony dollars: 25
Sacagewea Dollars: 44
Seated Liberty dollars: 2
US Presidential dollars: 22
1 coin in each Dansco 7070 slot (with gold page).

That's the U.S. ones in Danscos and flips. The tubes and rolls and baggies are another story (and will be left for another day!)

And I have no idea what sort of mess is in my junk foreign coin drawer...

This is only a count of coins in my Dansco albums; it does not include the various unsorted change jars.
