I make a habit of looking for Colombia 1c and 5c coins from the 50s-70s because they often have wildly repunched dates.
Just look at this 1c I found today. I'm guessing those "eyelashes" by 66 are remaining curves of older 6 digits.
Interesting too how those old digits were certainly a different style than the blocky 6 seen here.

Every time I find these, it makes me wonder what happened at the Bogota mint?

I like that one! The font is cool. The whacky repunching -- even cooler.

May be it was a love story, or cocaine or bad management in the mint.

hmm, the shape of the 6's make me think that this was a hidden advertisement for a local pear company. haha

Yes, it's still a mystery what went wrong at the mint particularly regarding the one cent coins during the 50s through the 70s. It may be a shame on the mint but it's great fun for collectors since there are lots of very wild varieties. The 1966 is by far the craziest year at the mint, there are 23 varieties of the 1 cent copper coin! I'm posting one of my pics.
