1000 Banknote Grover Cleveland 1934 Medal

numismatist6 Valued Member United States 360 Posts	Posted 11/30/2009 2:47 pm Any information on this. The medal is 40mm in diameter and weighs 28.03 grams in, I believe, copper-nickel. The obverse has a colored image of both sides of a Series 1934 $1000 FRN. The reverse on each side. This side also has a hallmark that looks like a crowned G within a you (see image). I found on the web this was a German medal maker's mark but lost the info and can't find it by googling now. Report this Post to the Staff

As mentioned by @hon in a recent thread, it is the Bavarian Mint, "Bayerisches Münzkontor".
