1952-Penny
any comments on this beautiful penny, they say its difficult to find it in this grade and also being abit scarce due to the mint origins !I read about it on the sandpit coin site.

Another nice penny. You have a nice collection of Australian pennies. Are you an Aussie in Italy, or an Italian with an eye for Australian coins?
And great photography by the way.

To LATMAN 100 on your questions on nationality ec. ec. , I've lived in Australia for 15 years, I'm Italian by birth, I went to Australia in 1959 (I was 5 years old) with my parents I did all my schooling in Sydney, we came back to Italy in 1972 family reasons, where we have decided to stay permantly. On the pre-decimal coins questions if you want to know the story let me know? I think we would all like to hear the story of where they came from. So many of us started collecting by different means, through gifts from family, inheritance, the history, love of the designs and so on. It is always nice to hear how members got the collecting 'bug'.

In responce to Latman100, the coin collector was my father, being a taxi driver he was able to spot out old pre-decimal coins when working,he owned the cab ,so, he did not have to respond money lines!Dad passed away 2 years ago and now, I'm taking over the small collection.Their is a variety of coins from 1911 till 1960's from pennies , half pennies, threepence, sixpence, shillings and florins. a few decimal coins.OK buddy!

I am sorry for your loss, but I think it is great you are continuing his collection. I hope at least one of my kids gets the bug so I can pass them on to someone who will appreciate them.

Sorry about your loss aussie72, but good to hear that you're picking up where your father left off.

Without the next generation taking an interest the hobby would eventually cease to exist. One of my sons is mildly interested insofar as he bought me 2 prized coins a couple Christmases ago, so he'll probably be the one that inherits my collection.
