Wormslick.....Quote: Thanks eaglefoot, I will pick up a few rolls this weekend.
NOTE ****You might pull out the nice Territory Qtrs. too, that you find, while you're at it..... while they're still in good shape to get ! The mintages are lower than the State Qtrs....and some are REALLY low.

I agree on the low mintages of the terrirorials. The only Silver proofs I have are the FL ones, I picked up a few at about $4 each. I was given a complete set of the State Quarters in silver. I've only opened it to look at it once. Its put away.

Yes, I have three complete sets. All in Proof Sets though. I have seen a few in bulk bins but they were pretty badly beaten up. I always wonder how a silver proof coin finds it's way to those bins; it's not like a quarter will buy a soda any more. If it's in good shape, high retail of a PF63 is around 20 bucks. Even if it looks and feels circulated now I'd still hang on to it if I were you.

Hi, new to the forum. I bought the 2001 silver proof set and it's on it's way. These fives coins will finally flesh out my silver proof set.I've been grabbing random silver proof coins when I can find them for decent prices and besides my album set have about two rolls worth of extras.

SDcoinguy, You got a 1999 Washington Delaware silver proof out a junk bin for the sum of three dollars and twenty-five cents. Where is this coin shop? That is one awesome purchase you made! I need that set to complete my silver proof set.

The silver proof coins all have fairly low mintages. Most of these coins are broken out and put in dansco books. 50 years from now the ones that have been carefully protected will be worth a good premium because most will have been tarnished and scratched from being in books. I love these coins for two reasons. The first is obviously because they are silver and of low mintage. The second is because I have always enjoyed most of the State Quarter patterns. They are just pretty, especially when stamped in silver. Sincerely, John Leckrone

I just purchased nine silver proof sets on ebay for an average cost of $33.81 I'm having a hard time justifying the prices asked for the 1999 & 2001 Silver proof sets. The mintage for these two sets is: 804,565 & 889,697, The 2008 and 2009 sets have lower mintage: 774,874 & 669,000+ so I don't understand why the 1999 & 2001 sets are commanding such a premium. I'll probably just wait until the price of these two sets come back to earth to complete my Silver proof sets / Silver proof 50 State Quarter sets.

I agree with Mr Leckron (925dealer) Sliver proof quarters in the future will be very collectibles coins in the future. There is being a correction in a couple of the sets (1999 and 2001, will be a good thing to watch for when they level off. The past couple weeks I have been looking for silver proof quarters, are in OGP holders or boxes that are scratched or torn. I have picked up 5 different years for $10.00, that's 5 silver proof coins, for $2.00 each. ( I know buying them for less than silver. ) At the coin show today I also picked up two half proof sets, cent/nickel/dime/half/sac, for $5.00. That is with a silver proof half and dime. I have been getting so many silver proof quarters at good prices .. I may have to start another State Quarter Dansco with P,D,S,S. Just have to find a good deal on the 1999 and 2001.

***Edited by Staff - Please Review the rules that you agreed to when you registered. ***I have put together 3 complete P/D & Clad/Silver Sets in Dansco's for my nephews. Fun, but time consuming (200 coins). Funny though...these are going for between 600-800 on ebay. Who would have thought 12 years ago...? As a side bar, I got so burned out on the Statehood .25, I had no desire to collect the District or Parks 25c.
