Really enjoyed this topic very much!

You have me rekindled in collecting commemorative 50p, round £1 and £2 coins. &&

My uncle up in Edinburgh is getting older and a bit difficult for him to get coins and some notes for me. He used to work many years for RBS. Prior to his retirement, he was able to get me coins and notes.

Other relatives are not willing to help me out. They probably think my hobby to be strange!!

I am going to subscribe to this topic now.

It's getting more and more difficult for any of us to find new notes and coins.
The new Charles II £10 and £20 have been out for some time, I've only found the £5 so far.

We've not had any new coins much in several years, the only way to get them seems to be buying them from a post master on ebay.

I have seen plenty of the £10 and £20 notes down here in the South West. I was fortunate to find one of the CIII £1 coins in change a few months back, but I have seen nothing else coin wise for CIII since.
I suspect most of the coins minted for him are in stock at present and may (or may not) surface when needed.

It could be why my Uncle is having a difficult time.

This may be another reason: different regions getting new notes and coins.

Happy you managed to find CIII £1 coin!

I've had lots of Charles III £5 notes down in Kent and quite a few £20 notes, but only one or two £10 notes. Working as a tour guide a fair proportion of the cash I get is in the form of tips received from customers, or when a customer needs small change and asks me to break a £10 or £20. I wonder actually whether quite a lot of Charles III notes have been sent overseas to Bureaux de Change, which would explain why foreign tourists are bringing them over, and might go some way to explaining why they are relatively common in Kent - the bank branch I use most often is in Canterbury, a city that gets lots of overseas tourists and students.

It's my nephew's 10th birthday next week, so I fished out of the bank £50 - I got five Elizabeth II £10 :(

I was lucky to find a few CIII £1 coins though, that was several months ago - none since.

I got £100 in £1 coins from the bank yesterday and found my first 2021 £1 coin. No sign of any Charles III £1 coins yet although a friend of mine got one in change in Scotland last year...

Yesterday I was out of milk and I walked down to the local gas station where there is a small store that is open 24/7. A pint of milk costs 99p. I handed over a £1 coin and hesitated about waiting for the penny change, but in the end, waited until the attendant gave it to me. When I looked at it as I was walking home, I was very pleased I'd insisted on my penny change, as I got this!

A 2011 Falkland Islands penny. A nice little addition to my collection. You don't find that many Falklands coins in circulation in Great Britain.
