That's very good hajduk. About 10 years ago I visited Burma (called Myanmar then), and purchased from a market stall a 15, 35 and 75 Kyat notes. They were printed in the 1980's and I was amused by their odd demoninations. Story has it that the head general at the time, was given to numerology and he believed those were auspicious numbers. They have since returned to a more decimal format. Certainly easier for transacting change.

Central Bank of China 1 Dollar, 1928. I've been trying to get one of these early issues of this note with the 'early' signature combination and overprints for years - I managed to get three this year. Life is odd.

Reminded me of my childhood when steam locomotives were still operating. My brother and I would go to the nearby main line running through my hometown. With a sack each we would walk separate ways and pick up any coal that had fallen off the tenders to help our mother and yes we had open fires at the time. Now my brother (not being the sharpest knife in the drawer) would set off and pick up the coal until the sack was full and then lug it back quite often being a mile or so from where we started. I would walk the length and judge when I had seen enough to fill the sack. Then walk back picking up as I went. I never did tell him about this energy-saving method.

The pick of my latest purchases. Germany P#44b 1910 1000 Marks plate letter U. Tiny crease in one corner and a bit of staining on the reverse but I'd rate it VF. Personal . The batch took me to over 4,000 in my collection.

4000! Wow. That's quite a collection. I'm slightly behind you ... Well, halfway anyway. Congrats!
I bought a group of ten of these notes many years ago. Got them pretty cheap then, too. What is odd about mine is that they all have a slight corrugated texture to the paper. At first I thought it was damaged notes, but after looking further I remember thinking that it may have been issued that way too. I'll have to re examine them, as I've not looked at them in earnest in quite sometime.
