To lafaa123 ....I'm not an expert on coin varieties and errors,but, on the 2 dollar coin sent in by gxseries it's a rim Cud or not? If it is, what's the difference with mine!
I assume you are referring to the 2 areas from about 4 to 4.30 and again at about 6.30 to 7.30.
I'm not sure what the term is that is given to this type of rim anomaly on the $2 coins. I've had hundreds of them the majority being 1999. I don't consider them to be a rim Cud, because rim Cuds cover the entire thickness of the rim.
I'm sure there will be a numismatic name for it, but I don't believe this is a rim Cud. When you've got 50 posts, send me a PM & I'll send you a $2 with a Rim Cud as I've got quite a few of them. See this thread for my list.
