Have found these over the years. Moving them into 2x2s so thought I would photograph, first.  It appears the planchet on the lower right missed the upsetting machine, too. Jim |

Yes, the lower right one appears to be a Type 1(blank) planchet which I believe is tougher to find than a Type II(upset rim) planchet. Any of them copper?

cool to find in rolls!  If I were to guess, I'd say at least 2 were bronze  |

I've found several blanks myself, 3 in the last month beleive it or not. BUT I've never found a type one, congrats on that one!  |

The blank looks to be copper anyway.
Weigh them all up to see what is what.
Maybe so no confusion, Blank is Blank - Planchet is Planchet.
I also agree with Bio on the blank being scarcer as far as finding
in circulation anyway. A nice condition copper blank especially.

What are the thicknesses of these Planchets? I have one similar Only about 1/2 the thickness of a penny / no sheen Lincoln's face is almost seeable and the Memorial is Vague. The weight is 2.6 gram. but it is not zinc.
could it be a mis-struck cent ?

that is a horribly corroded cent and that is the cause for it being underweight

Looks acid dipped. They can get real thin that way. On a corroded Cent they will be normal thickness, but that a rough finish.
