Roll searching half's this afternoon and I found my second 1972P 1 DDO -001 JFK in the past month.

This one has some problem areas like my first one, but it's also soaking in acetone to see if it helps any.

Nice notching.

I never knew there was a DDO for 1972, now when I get skunked on silver I still may find a "keeper"
Thanks for posting this!

By "notching" do you mean the ridge running parallel to the arms on the "R" and the curvature of the "S" or do you mean the notches through "G" and "O" in GOD?

bmanofnbc:

Your welcome!

I didn't know about this DDO either until last month while I was surfing the coin talk web site someone had mentioned about this DDO besides the one everyone knows about, the 1974D DDO, so I started to look for this 1972P DDO only about a few days prior to my finding the first one!

Needless to say, I was shocked to find one so fast!

I also checked out Bill's (found-in-rolls)site, "all about coins" and he has also listed some real nice DDO's and DDR'S beside the more well known one's.

As an example, start checking any 1969D JFK's on the reverse, it has a real nice DDR on it with the letter "S" and stars.

I haven't found one of these yet, but at least now it's added to the list of what to look for also besides just Silver!.

I check all years of coins for doubled dies whether they are listed or not. That is the way I found the first 2002-D EPU doubled die. Just check them all coins for a doubled die. Then you may be the first one to find one not found yet.
