Just to make a 102nd, I found this one to be the strangest. Back in the 1800's large copper cents were fed to large game birds such as geese, etc and they would become lodged in their gullets without harming them. They would live their lives and whenever they were killed for food, the copper that was in there gullet caused a drastic increase in the size of their liver because of a reaction of enzymes, resulting in a plus for anyone who enjoyed pate.

Checkers. Heads for one player, tails for the other. Works in tic-tac-toe also.

-Older grandfather clocks and such can be adjusted faster or slower to keep proper time by adding the coins to the swinging pendulum.
-Ceiling fans that wobble can be balanced by taping them to one blade or another to even the load.

-(silver) to purify your water -to play bloody knuckles -to give away -to superglue on your car (I've seen a car in Toronto with shiny pennies glued all over the body) -to use as poker chips or markers

When the switch in my old truck door quit turning off the dome light I taped a couple to the spot where the switch hit, to make it higher. Voila! I keep a pile on my desk to throw one at any dog or cat that is misbehaving.

My brother in law uses quarters taped to a target for sighting in his varmint rifle-he loves to 'eliminate' woodchucks!

Hammered into the end of an axe handle to tighten the axe head.
O.K., I'm old, but how did you miss using them on the arm of a turntable as a weight to keep the records from skipping?

When we were kids, we used to see who could skip pennies the furthest across a lake, like skipping stones.
Not sure if this one was mentioned, but what was the name of that game where you tried to toss your coin closest to the edge of the wall? I'm drawing a blank.
