Lucky guys,
I never find any Silver Dime. I got one from change when I was visiting Pittsburgh in 1977. I thought that was good. I never got any since.

Sam, if you want dimes, search $50-$100 hand rolled dimes. I get one per every $150 in dimes searched. You don't have to look at the dates, just edge search for silver. I found about 90 single silver dimes the first 3 months of this year.

A couple of years ago I was at a bank looking for rolls of half dollars and while I was waiting for the teller I saw a whole pile of old looking dimes on the counter one teller over. When my teller arrived I asked if they had any rolls of half dollars and he said they did not. I told him that was too bad, and I explained that I was a coin collector(I was about to go in for the kill on that pile of dimes) when all of a sudden the teller with the dimes spoke up and said he's got a bunch of silver dimes if I wanted to wait until he was finished with his customer. I couldn't believe what I just heard! So I calmly said "Sure, I'll wait." When he finally got finished with his customer he told me that an older lady had just brought them in. He told the lady that they were silver and probably worth more money, but she didn't care. What gets me is they both new they were silver and neither one of them cared. I made out with 77 silver dimes and not one of them was a rosie. I had 74 mercs and 3 barbers. There were 13 from the 40's, 21 from the 30's, 30 from the 20's, and 13 from the teens. The oldest being 1916(three of them). The barbers were 1908, 1898, and one I couldn't read the date. That has got to be one of my better finds. I wasn't actually searching rolls of dimes, but I was searching for rolls of halves so that still counts right?

HOLY CRAP! HOLY CRAP! JACKPOT! UNBELIEVABLE! If that had happened to me, I literally would have been out. Forget about the Barbers! Those Mercuries would have caused me to go crazy! 74 Mercury dimes?!? Now, I was fortunate to find one Mercury in a box of dimes last month. The box, (a dream box) which contained 18 silver rosies, had a 1927 Mercury in it! I cannot believe it! 74 of those wonderful Mercuries?!? WOW! - coincrazed

I barely have time with two jobs to keep up my nickel survey, buy rolls of half dollars and do cents looking for varieties; now after reading this thread I just HAVE TO go get some dimes! Time to develop that "go a week without sleep" drug!

I picked up a box yesterday and received 2 2010 P's. Just last week I got 4 2009 P's in change from McDonald's. I ask which bank the bank received change from and the cashier did not know.
