ffd,

you mean you would rather just buy the silver, rather than spend that much time looking for the same amount? just want to be clear

SD, please don't get me wrong, I would MUCH rather gain my silver through roll hunting, although when I add up the time, gas, dumping, etc, costwise, it's probably cheaper for me to buy the dimes outright. NO WHERE near as fun tho!

i understand completely. I have limited myself to only 2 days a week now. I was getting TO into it and needed a break. this makes it more fun to look forward to instead of everyday.. just me.

against my better judgement, I picked up another dime box. pulled 2 silvers: 61D, 63D. feeling a little better now...
Also picked up a nickel box, hopefully this will have some good results too.

Searched a box yesterday - 3 silvers: 56 and 2x64. Still have another box to finish up tonight. I found another source for halves, so after taking a few weeks off I'm going to try my luck there again. I promised myself I wouldn't give up on dimes until I find a barber, but I may cut back a bit.

Box 2 was better: 6 silver Roosies - 50, 53, 56D, 62, 64 & 64D. The 62 is the most hideous coin I've seen, it's got lumpy black oxidation on it and you can hardly read the date. The 56 has some kind of oil all along the edge so I almost missed it.

Additionally, I pulled a 79D that looks almost mint state and two 2009Ds. I guess the 2009s are out there since I've found P's and D's ... wish I could say the same for nickels.

picked up a box today. actually yesterday...didn't realize it was so late. 1 '64D. dimes haven't been impressive lately, but 1 is better than ZERO. have a box of halves coming next week. hopefully i'll hit a bigger silver strike with those.

Also pulled a 1974 Mexico cinco centavos

Fistfull,
I am with you on this one. As per dimes and halves I am down to a 2 boxes each a week. The way I look at it is that by cutting down I am saving about $5 a week in gas which adds up to 260 per year and you can buy some nice coins with that money.

This is also a function of what part of the country people are at and my spec is that someone looted my area a while back.

Peace

cant decide weather to go my bank and get 2 boxes of dimes or scout for more customer wrapped. anyone know if wells fargo/brinks gives decent returns? not that it makes a difference, I'm sure its just the same amount of luck involved and what was deposited...

The ONLY reason I mess with customer rolled dimes, is for the chance at a dream roll. Three years and approximately $50,000 later, no such luck.
