i'll take a closer look at anything with bright, pristine rims, but haven't kept anything except what I had needed to fill whatever holes I had left in my book (all filled now). i'll take a look at the clean rims to see if it's anything worth keeping (nothing yet)

picked up another box on the way to dropping my kid off at grandma's...pulled 1 64d. that makes 11 silvers in 366 rolls.

I didn't get any dimes today but I did find a 59D in the reject slot when I was dumping my box of halves. That's my second reject dime from that same bank.
I'm like the rest and only look at the clean looking edges (slowly building a clad set). Obviously I look at anything that looks foreign, silver or black. The only clads I've found that are interesting are one 2009P and a few minor errors. The few times I've looked at all the coins didn't yield anything more interesting than edge searching has.

I've never found anything worthwile in any machine reject slots. I looked through a whole box only once, while trying to fill holes. Probably won't ever do it again as I couldn't see straight after that for like a week.

so far seems that every other box is good. this box had 5 silvers, the previous 1, then before that 6, then 0 then 2. I'm just checking the rims cause I still have a box of pennies to finish. not a lot of spare time to sit and go through each roll. ill get rid of the box of pennies today and next box of dimes I might start opening up the rolls and searching. had a '51 and a 63 then rest are 64

Seems like ya'll are doing fairly well with the dimes, so....I ordered a box. It'll be here Friday. A question though - rim searching.......is it really that easy with these? I know with Halves its pretty obvious, BUT, I'd miss some here and there if I only rim searched halves.

It's just as easy to rim search dimes. I know that some 40% silver halves have a clad sandwich, not so with dimes. They are 90%, which means no sandwich. It gets easier as you go. Search a couple million and you can do it with your eyes closed. Except for all those dang shiny Canadians they keep throwing in the mix. I get alot of em here in Mich, It took me awhile to tell the difference between US silver rims and slug Canadians....don't even have to pull 'em out of the roll to verify, even so I've pulled 15 silver Canadians this year including a 1900.

Tried my first dime box. 1 mercury- Not bad for a start . Consistent with everybody's else's finds . I gave up looking at each one hurt my eyes and went straight to opening the wrapper and looking at the edge. I am going to stick to half's until those dry up again.

Yeah, I saw your half haul in the other post ... don't waste your time on dimes when you've got halves like that in your area!

No no, please...by all means, give up the halves and send them my way. I'll be sure to send all the single silver dime boxes to you.
So anyways, back to my awesome dime rolls...one box, one 1957. 12 silves in 416 rolls.

I searched my first dime box. I filled up my Dansco with 1970+ Ps and Ds and filled a couple of silver slots. I ended up with 2 silver Roosies, a mercury and some worthless foreign coins that I'll hold onto for coolness factor. I think I'll stick to pennies and halves. Halves are a lot easier to search and pennies are more fun. By the time I got down to the last five rolls or so I started edge searching.

Just searched a box of dimes. I found 3 silvers, 46-D, 50-D, and 64-D. The 46-D is so worn the letters are merging with the rim, but the 50-D looks to be XF. The 64-D is typical of all the VG - VF 64-D dimes I've found (about 5).

I filled 90% of my Roosevelt folder, 1946 to 1964, my first year searching dimes...still need the low mintage 1946S, 47S, 52S, 55, and 55S to complete.
