Hello, I hope this is ok that I post this question again. Just wondered why this dime looks this way, it has the Queen on one side and the other side is blank. Any ideas?

I'll chime in. From your previous posts on this piece, basically same thickness as a regular planchet, I'd suggest you spend the $20.00 and send it in to CCCS. Or sell it as is but who knows how that goes.

Very nice! The coin is called a late-stage brockage. The "blank" side was struck by a previously struck coin stuck to the reverse die. They are tough to find on US coins; don't know about Canadian.

Hi coppernickeldaddy Excuse my bad english. I see on the reverse pic it seems to me that the queen look at right. On a coin struck by a "Capped Die", the queen look at left, no ? En français Je vois sur la photo de l'avers que la reine me semble regarder à droite. Sur une pièce frappe par un coin bouchon "Capped Die", la reine regarderais à gauche, non? http://www.numicanada.com/pieces-de...ouchon&id=40

Your english is fine and much better than most people's french. I agree that the fuzzy pic seems to show the obverse the wrong way around for this type of error. But that might just be because it is hard to get a good sharp picture. Windy, any chance of a sharper and larger photo?

In my opinion, the picture is not exact enough. Probably a brockage, but I retain the right of denial pending more gooder pictures...lol

windy, art is right about the value. But your picture is really no better than before. I do know that it is sometimes hard to get a good picture with something like this. Autofocus might not work very well on a piece like this. If you can disable it and try a manual focus, that might help. And a macro function would help. An actual scanner might give a nice view as well.
