Quote:Even more amazing is getting a 1939 wheat in AU back in change! LOL Believe it or not, I was not at all surprised that you got it in change, considering the finds that CCF members have been posting recently. Okay, I was a little surprised. But, in my opinion, the success of VERDI-CARE™ was more newsworthy.

Found this cuddy Memorial cent searching tonight. I just wondered if I could make it "less ugly". LOL Pretend it's a tough variety! What do you think after conservation?

It does look much better, at least "less ugly" as you said. If it were a tough variety, it would be acceptable to me.

I did this in only 5 minutes. If someone were more determined, they could have taken their time with the coin under VERDI-CARE™ and a toothpick and done more complete job.

A forum member was kind enough to let me experiment on a hazy proof. As expected, the haze was not removed. In fact, the coin was damaged further so I have to stick with not recommending VERDI-CARE™ on proof coins. Here's a couple pics of the disastrous results:

Results summary from forum user jokingjoker: This coin had heavy green spots that I believed to be verdigris or PVC damage. After using the Verdi-Care solution the spots seem to turn a black color, or atleast darker. Overall the coin has a more pleasing appearance. Besides the spots, which I didnt think would do too much. The next coin I was really pleased with the results: This coin had some build up under Lincolns bust, around the date and around the motto. It removed or lightened almost all the grime except where it was the heaviest around the motto. It also gave the coin a more over all lighter appearance, which in my eyes, made it alot better looking! 1929 s LWC:

Badthad, I have a couple of Lincolns that have a blue tone to them. When I posted them you stated 1 had been recolored and the other had been oiled. Any idea what was added to these to give them the blue tone?

I tried the Verdi-care on my 1939 Lincoln proof and was actually pleasantly surprised. Originally the fields were very hazy and spotted. I expect from over dipping. After applying the Verdi-care, it has much better eye appeal. I couldn't even tell it had been dipped. Not perfect but 200% better. First pic is through a Airtite: After pic has a piece of lint that looks like a scratch but definitely not on the coin:

This coin showed the least results, in hand, the only difference I can see is that the toning or staining or whatever is on the coin has gotten darker and more pronounced. Before: After:

After winning a free bottle of Verdi-Care from Badthad in one of his contests, I must say that I really am impressed. Having never used any type of conservation product in the past, I had no idea what to expect. I could definitely see my self using this product on a large portion of my collection, not limited to coppers. On all the coins I applied the product to, only one didn't show signs of an overall improvement in eye quality. And I believe this coin was beyond help. I applied the solution to a couple of problem cents that had been cleaned that had been sitting in a window to re-tone. The Verdi care gave them a much better appearance in my opinion, and now I have no problem displaying them with the rest of my collection. If I get a chance I will post some before and after pics. Overall: Two thumbs way up for this product IMHO!

BadThad, do you have a write up of proper procedure for using your product? Maybe a do and donts?
