I bought this coin as a proof but am not sure if it is. Both sides have deep mirror finishes that don't show up good in the photos. Thanks. The coin is in an airtite. I have included extra photos. The coin is so well struck that you can read the inscription on the reverse on the bell.
Very few of the pre-59 Franklin halves earn 67 or 68. I believe the scratches we see are on the plastic holder and not the coin. I see some cameo on the devices, but not quite enough for cameo designation. I also see some frosting in the fields on the reverse at 2 o'clock near rim, off the eagle's right wing (your left) and on the obverse at 2 0'clock ... you don't want to see frosting/pitting on the proof fields. Still a very nice example.
