Where would you grade this one? Looks like a VF/XF to me?

I'm thinking VF-30, possibly VF-35.

Assuming it's genuine, looks to be about VF-30 or so.

Do you know the history/provenance of that coin?

I think Thad touched on it. I am worried about this coin. The tone is too consistent (AT) and looks more like it just came out of foil and can be eaten. Also, the rim at Liberty does not look correct to me. I would want to know a lot more about the coin.

Now that you mention it, it does look a little questionable. I was thinking about bidding on it on ebay but will probably pass after reading these comments. Thanks for the cautions.

If it's on ebay and not slabbed....it's probably counterfeit.

I'll repeat this one more time: NEVER buy a key like this on ebay. Go to a dealer or a show and look at it in hand. It's just too much money to risk and seeing an important key date coin in hand is critical before you buy.

Thad, is correct. With the proliferation of counterfeits, buying expensive coins on the bay is suicidal. They are getting better all the time and pics and lighting can hide many sins. So, unless you really trust the seller shop elsewhere. I much prefer Heritage and feel safer there. Give them a try.
