OK, so my guess for today is a 5 Peso coin from Mexico from 1950 commemorating the opening of the southern railroad. The mint mark is Mo. I will be shocked if this is correct. My contribution to others folks for the day is this: Hint 1 is: MMZ(DRC)BRUK I have no idea what that means, but Bruk is a town currently in Poland, that was part of Germany prior to WWII. I don't know if that is what the clue refers to, but it might be useful. Here is an image of the Mexican coin: edited to fix image

My guess for today is a Cuban 1939 1 Peso coin.
(sorry no image)
I have thought of 2 possibilities for the Old/New world ambiguity. Either it is form a place that is no clearly in one or the other (Greenland, Australia, Pacific Islands etc) or the coin was made at an Old World mint for a New World country (or vice versa).
