Here's the only thing so far that I could come up with a+b+c=87. Although the rest of the hints do not necessarily make sense for it.

Very enigmatic clues! You should be a script writer for movies such as National Treasure or Angels & Demons. You know...the kind of movies where the hero has to decipher clues to solve a puzzle!

Thanks Moe, you're a great sport for hosting these contests.

OK, that first image Moe posted of the ore bearing rock last appeared on the internet in the West African section of the World News. I used image tracing software to track it down but I won't link the article as it may very well be misdirecting.

Moe offered an uncertain answer when asked if it was an old world or new world coin. Arguably, Africa is very old world but succumbed to colonization efforts in the manner of the new world.

I may very well be hindering the individual research efforts and this posting is only my opinion, not Moe's .
