I'm not. Saving my money for when they come out with the "Rest Areas of the U.S. Highways" series. Sheeeeee
Sorry, I am just very frustrated with the mint. I feel that they take extreme advantage of collectors.

I won't be collecting them. I haven't even finished my State Quarter set. I got a good start to them in the first few years but got sick of them. If I manage to fill out a set in change then so be it. I'm not going to pay the mint's premium. Maybe they'll gain some value over the course of several years but I have better ways to tie up my money in that time. I'd rather just buy them when the market shakes out and we know if they're going to be worth something. I might end up paying more but at least they'll continue to rise in value.

"ALL" comments and opinions are welcome....of course. ... ... But keep in mind that I started this thread by saying .... "For those who are planning on collecting the Parks Qtrs." ... " I " am also in the "IF" I collect them camp at the present time. I haven't decided yet. Though I have a feeling that, (as my friend JB often says) it is just in my nature to collect them. I can certainly appreciate the frame of mind of those who are completely disgusted by the State Qtrs. & the new series of Parks Qtrs., however, the purpose of the thread was to gain some insight from the many CCF members who "DO" plan on collecting them.....and "how" they're going to go about it, and if they'll pursue all of the different types of Parks Qtrs.....or just those from Sets, and if they'll recognize the Satins in their albums. And, perhaps most importantly, just what the best cost effective ways might be to go about this attempt. If I were confident that I could score all 11 years of these Parks Qtrs., both P&D, from circulation..... And was sure that they would be in BU condition.....I think I would just seek the Biz. Strikes from circulation only. And then collect the others through Proof & Mint Sets....all for an album. But this is my "quandary". I don't want to be chasing a lot of low mintage P's or D's around for the next 20 years after this new series has ended ! Nor do I want to have to pay some kind of ridiculous premium for some singles, because they are an extrememly low mintage and can't and/or won't ever be found "in the wild." So......" if" I start collecting them.....I want to know the best way to proceed from the start. I've played "catch up" before.....and still am with some series.....I DON'T want to keep doing that ! It's VERY annoying and irritating to me ! ....

I'll be putting together a Dansco 7145 with business strike uncirculated P & D and a Dansco 8146, 8147 with satin, proof, and silver proof. I would love to get face value rolls for the business strike but may have to pay the mint premium. If OBW are available I am open to CCF trades.

My son and I will build a P & D set from circulation. We'll finish when he's in college.

I didn't mean to hijack the thread, eaglefoot, please excuse me. I will modify my answer appropriately. I intend to collect them in my left front pocket when I get them in circulation and probably spend them for lunch. Did I do better? I feel an ornery streak today. I'm sorry. All meant in fun! Jim

I'm excited! Just got my shipping confirmation for the Hot Springs two roll set. I really see myself at least breaking even on these rolls from here on out. So many options on what to do with the rolls. 1. Save them for a couple years while seeking out OBR's at a good price. Sell the mint rolls for a premium. 2. Open the rolls and trade or sell each quarter for twice face value. I really don't see this as an issue if they are nice BU's. I think most would pay $1.00 shipped for a nice BU coin to fill a hole. The rolls will have better coins in them then the bags IMO. 3. Save the whole mint roll set to open 11 or more years from now and sell 39 beautiful BU sets. Saving the best set for myself! 4. Unload each roll set fast for close to what I paid and hope that a few of them sell out faster at the mint and the premiums jump wildly.
After all, I am a collector and it's just fun for me to find interesting ways to fuel my desires to collect.
P.S. - I might change my mind if the mint stops the whole satin finish thing. This is the key to my plans as business strikes are going to be harder to come by in mint state IMO. If I can get the business strikes in mint sets then everything I have stated will have to be looked at once again.

Quote: Indian1: Unless they make some silver ones. They'll be in the annual Silver Proof Sets, so if you collect modern Silver Proof Sets, you'll be collecting them by default. And then there's those 5 oz. Silver saucer-sized versions! You want Silver, those should do ya! I wonder if they'll have a "W" mintmark, since they are supposed to be 'exact' replicas of their normal-size counterparts, right down to the "Quarter Dollar" tender designation! The regular size Quarters all have mintmarks (P, D, or S), so the 5 oz. versions should be mintmarked "W" to maintain the design continuity. I'd seriously like to do a complete set of the 5 oz.'ers, but if Silver has a monster rally sometime in the next 11 years, this may make certain varieties nosebleed-expensive (at time of issue)!

If I find some in change, I might keep a couple, but I do not go out of my way to collect this ultra modern stuff

I'll collect this ATB Quarters. I'll collect two sets P & D & S with silver. I'll also put togather five sets just P & D. I love to build sets. I hope to get the grand kids into collecting coins. This is another story. Harry

Next time I am at the coin store I plan on asking about them. If he has single quarters available I will pick one up. I will not be buying rolls of these.

I'm pretty tired of the whole endless quarter series. I'll just order a single silver proof set and call it good. Clad coins in general don't interest me but the silvers will always at least have some intrinsic value.
Just for fun, the mint should strike a few silver P and D coins and dump them in with the billions of clad circulation coins. That would create some excitement! If it cost $3.00 apiece to make the coins and the government realized just the $0.25 per coin face value it would still be a better investment than most government programs!

If you live in/near Washington, DC, I can solve all three of your issues.
Inside the US Mint headquarters is a gift shop. IN this giftshop is a dollar change machine filled with new issue coinage. There are 3 machines. 1 for the latest President Issue, 1 for the latest Native American issue and 1 for the latest Quarter issues.
These coins are at face value. These coins are BU These coins are mixed from both mints.
I got $20 worth on Thursday and have nice examples from both mints in bu condition.
Win/Win situation.
