Is this common? The coin is a little too big for the spot. The first thought that came to my mind was that it was a fake.. but then I realized it was in VF+ and only worth about $35 or so.. thus lowering the likelihood of being a counterfeit.

Just curious if I should be worried, or if this happens from time to time.
Rest in Peace

I had the same problem with my 3 cent silver and my type set, actually both of my 3 cent silvers, including the one I upgraded from. For other coins I'd be worried, but I think it is common for the 3 cent silver not to fit right. I ended up shaving the inside of the hole.

Cool - I did the same thing.. It's just one of those things that would always bother me if I didn't know. I wonder if the 7070 is wrong, or if there were problems with the 3 cent silver pieces.

It has been a few years since I added mine to the 7070 so I do not recall if I had any problems getting it in there. However, it does seem to be in there very well with no chance of moving around.
