Hi, friends,
today receive bulk lot coins from UK.
The coin is 31-32 mm approx., and 5.7 grams approx.
Tested - high grade silver.
What do you think - original Charles I shilling, or Not original coin?
Thanks...

It's original, the anchor mint mark is for 1628/9. Old coinage was literally worth it's weight in gold/silver/copper, so to make a forgery in silver would have been totally pointless.
There is a contemporary forgery base metal George III halfcrown among the lot though.
John.

I also think it looks fine. Here's what I believe you have:
King Charles I, shilling, Tower mint, class 4C. Crowned bust of king, Aberystwyth style with single arched crown and large denomination behind bust, mintmark anchor. Reverse - Square topped shield over cross. Spink 2796 (2792). I'd push the date closer to 1642 (the year when the Tower mint came under control of Parliament during the Civil War).

My 2000 Coincraft catalogue puts it at £25 in VG. (Coincraft tends to overprice, though.)

Hi I think it looks more like Spink 2895. Looking at that anchor mint mark it looks closer to the one for 1638-9. That is just my opinion though. As to the cost of the coin my Spink 2009 book has the value for that coin in fine condition at about $250. Then again I could be completely wrong with the coin type.
Cheers
