I've looked and looked and I like this one for my type set.
The only one I own. I am guessing it is F-15
( guess is hidden in white )
Lets see who agrees with me.

I can see it going a little higher than your guess.

I would go VF-20 on this coin

I dickered twice on this with make an offer. Originally it was Buy it now at 49.50
I insulted the seller with an offer of 31.50 and was quickly declined. I must have looked at a few hundred FE cents trying to get a nice one for under $30.00 but it looks like most of these in that range are either badly worn, damaged, weakly struck or corroded in some way.
I kept coming back to this one. I submitted a $36.50 offer and he countered with $42.00.
Since somebody else had also received a counteroffer and had not jumped on it I thought I better or I am going to be kicking my self for letting it go.
I hope it looks a little nicer in hand when it arrives. It costs me $43.50 with shipping which is a lot more than I wanted to pay but I suppose with today's prices, I could always get my money back if I found a better one. The old timers always told me to buy fine or better circulated coins if you can afford it because they are easier to sell. So I guess I did OK. I just remember having a handful of these many years ago and having only paid maybe $11.00 tops for an VF/XF.
This was about the same time I bought a CC 1975 VF 20 cent piece for $45.00. Why did I sell them off?

Eh, ya did alright! (Unless shipping was $20.)

Why did you sell them off? I love flying eagles - I'd never sell them. Well, at least... I hope it never comes to that!

Technically it is mostly made of copper but still contains 12% nickel.
I am on a type coin kick lately. Mainly been looking at Half Cents and large cents for better than "hole fillers" for fair prices.

I think I will conclude that this FE cent is VF20
Thanks for the input all.
Where it might lack a bit of the detail for tail feathers, I think the eye appeal brings out the best in it.
I like looking at it every time I see it in the picture.
I am expecting it to arrive in the mail today and hope it is one of those looks better in hand coins than in the picture.

LATE EDIT:
Coin arrived looking just as good or better than image for color and detail and is a keeper for sure.

I'm glad you like the coin. As you noted it is the large letters variety. You might also want to check for a remnant of the number 7 for the 1858/7 overdate variety.
