I'm so glad the tutorial helped! I appreciate everyone's comments on it. It's nice to know it wasn't a waste of time. It certainly isn't the only way to go about it, just one method to tackle it.
To win here, you have to overcome some serious competition! Well done! Congrats again! Thank you all for playing!

Wow, thank you for the encouraging comments. I was starting to wonder whether I should continue with this series or not. I just have to figure out how to attract a few more players. It's not that complicated a game as some people make it sound and the time frame is always hard to overcome.
As much as I like a lot of guesses coming, I don't want it to end in half a day, either. I dunno.
I'm always open to suggestions. I've said it before and I'll say it again: If you guys (and gals) have any thoughts on how to make this game better, let me know!

Congrats weavus! Hey Scooby.. if you allow more guesses per day and also allow them to be any time of day, we could either use them or hoard them as we need to. So someone who had to go into work could make a guess before they leave for work, then 1 (or 2) when they get home. Someone who is online all the time could pace themselves better.. (or not, if they do all their guesses in the morning then chomp at the bit for the next 24 hours until they can guess again.. lol) So say, 3 guesses per day would be the equivalent of allowing one every 8 hours. Then maybe throw in some opportunities for free guesses along the way. The more guesses allowed per day could be offset with the amount of available currencies to choose from and/or number of currencies in the answer, that way it isn't over in 12 hours Great game, thanks for hosting !

I don't have any suggestions on the timing of guesses...it is a catch 22. Quicker action or more players.

Interesting xshift. I'm liking it so far!
This game took 26 guesses (if I counted correctly) picking 7. At 3 guesses per day @ 8 people, it could be solved in around a day, especially if the "final answer" were still an option. Seems like people didn't care for having to pick 10 currencies, so maybe 8 might be the top end. (Personally, I liked picking 10, I thought it was more challenging).
The extended list of the original 175 currencies (or maybe a little less) would eat up a lot of 0/0 guesses and extend it a little bit.

I liked 10 as well We should go for a monster 15 or 20.. We did 12 on my 'brain-melter', as wolf calls it.. from that old spreadsheet, it looks like it took 3 1/2 - 4 days & 28 guesses with 7 participants (could be slightly off on the numbers but that's where the spreadsheet was left), and there were multiple guesses allowed (but with rules, lol). A couple of players didn't do it 'full time' though.

What a bummer! I was trying to declare weavus the winner in the title and won't let you edit anymore after one day! What's up with that?

Quote: so maybe 8 might be the top end. Seven is the limit to the number of nested if's in Excel 2003 and before. Excel 2007 allowed me 12 nested if's in the cell formula. I do have a different spreadsheet I used for the larger games. Just letting others know if they look to expand. I personally like 6 - 8 with a big list of currencies to choose from and the time it takes does not bother me. One guess a day or one guess a minute, it's a fun game. I have time to play constantly, and I have other things to do while waiting if I have to. What I am saying is my opinion does not matter, just let me play.
