Here are a few bank tokens my wife purchased and gave me today as a gift. I hadn't told her of my desire to purchase a few of these so it's a great surprise to receive them from her

Lucky you.

All I can hope for from my wife is an argument.

The Bank of Upper Canada token from 1850 makes me wonder how many dragons were roaming the land just before confederation.
I'm trying to determine the mintages of these and other bank tokens. With my numismatic curiosity piqued, I'm going to try to get a full set from the three banks represented above.

Pick up a Charlton Colonial Token book. They are essential to a good library. If you count varieties of the bank tokens and the 1838/9 side view tokens, you're looking at probably 50 coins, with some in the $750 starting range from VG..... to have a "full set"

The latest token book does not list mintages. Did earlier ones?

There are no mintages for these tokens, only a rarity scale 1 being common and 10 being rare (only 1 or 2 pcs known). The Charlton book is only a guide as $750 for the sideview in a nice VG would be a good deal.
