I have a Canada 1936 Dot one cent. I have been told that no one will verify it. If this is so,Why? I have read that there are only 3 in the world. I have also been told that there are 5. I find it hard to believe that mine is one of three known. It is in excelent condition and had specks of blue mold on it when I found it. Can anyone explain this to me. I know what have.

wrong dot spot, wrong dot size.
there are 5 known are currently all accounted for, so the next one would be one of six.
it wouldn't surprise me if there were more out there.

You have an altered coin, a genuine dot is quite small

There have been a lot of fakes with this coin and as stated before yours is one of them and I wonder who told you no one would verify it....I am sure one of the companies would have done so for you

Welcome to the Family Manx.

Unfortunately, based on the image you provided it looks like you have a damaged coin. I wouldn't want to jump to conclusion, but I would say it has been altered by human hands.

The scan is a bit small so it's hard to tell - but the coin looks MS to me.

So that would bring it closer to $10 or even more.

A better scan would help...

Can you increase the resolution, to something like 600 dpi?

And scan both sides of the coin also?
