legend, you mentioned submittable coins. I'm pretty much a newb but do you submit coins from a mint set for slabbing? Just curious.

In the last 2 years the Mint/Proof sets are received by me in an unacceptable condition, I called the mint, I have been ordering for many, many years, and I explained the poor quality and scratches etc, I received a return label, sent the coins back to the center that distributes them and received the shipping cost for the return shipping, in a check 5-10 days later and also asked for replacement sets and the replacements were in excellent condition.

I believe, IMO, They send the coins for an inspection of the set, and according to those findings, either resend the set out to another customer, or have some pile for some dealer they probably sell to for a discount, just my opinion on what they do with the returned sets, but if you are NOT satisfied with the sets you receive, call the Mint and return them, you pay enough to be satisfied......

I just received my replacement sets today and the quality is a LOT better then the last sets. I have to say that the process for returning sets and getting replacements was excellent. The Mints quality control may be lacking but at least the customer service is still good.

My original proof set was poor quality and I also sent it back. First time I've ever had to do that.

Fortunately, like you, the replacement set was much better.
