And I thought that Washington was looking weak on the circulation strikes.

I supposed that it is a good thing that I put these coins in my Dansco album reverse side up.

Just got my proof sets. The Presidential Proofs may be worse than last year. How is this for spots.

I think these quarters were opened and returned then resent judging by their position.

A number of factors are at work here:

1. A return to the 1932 hair line design, but...
2. With much lower relief than used in 1932,
(at this point, the non-Proof obverses still look decent in MS grade)
3. Then, add in the new etched style of Proof dies
(that already reduced the visibility of the hair lines in 2009),
and presto:
"Sandblasted George!"

Re. my 2010 Silver Quarters Set: The reverses are nice, and they're 90% Silver!

There is absolutely no excuse for any of these coins to have spots or smudges or to be rotated in their cases. Its plain and simple in my book, Fire the company that puts these sets together.

Here is one pic from my set, Lincoln Presidential dollar, It is a bit of a rarity showing the lathe rings, my set has two, Lincoln and Pierce are both like this on the obverse.

Hey, that looks like the rings of the log that Abe chopped down on the LP2 Cent!

Lol DNA. Metalman, besides that being yet another example of the Mint's craptacular production, what a great photo! I am really impressed with the detail you achieved at such a small image size. How did you do that?

itrooper, my images are mediocre at best, there are many who are much better, these were shot with the camera hand held at about 4 inches from the coin, a little cropping to the edges and then re sized to 1000x1000 and down loaded to my galley here on CCF.

3 more posts and you will have the same advantage ! ;-))
