HOLY SMOKES! A 1901-S in that condition in a junk lot? Wow. That is a great price to have gotten on the lot considering the 01-S alone is worth at least double or triple that amount.

Agreed. As long as that coin is genuine(quite likely since all the keys found so far from him have been), that buyer made out really well. You really just never know what might turn up in his lots. Next up, 1856 flying eagle!

I also had my other one up for sale temporarily. I was planning to sell one, and upgrade to this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...TRK:MEWAX:IT

then hopefully the other one would sell soon after. Unfortunately, by the time I had enough to buy the PCGS one, someone else had swiped it out from under me...lol I think someoned did really well with that PCGS G-4 for $2650, it's the strongest G-4 I've ever seen.

Wow, Johhny that was a nice G-4 !

It looks better than my VG-8 thats graded by ANACS.

I hope I don't take a beating when and if I decide to sell it ! :(

You should post some picture of it Vanbro. Yeah, that was a killer G-4, and I just barely missed it. The seller told me he would put it on layaway for me, but I didnt take him up on it. I have no one to blame but myself for not jumping on it, but at the same time 3 grand is a lot of money..lol.

Hi Johnny ,

Sorry , but I do not own a camera. The "IN GOD WE TRUST" was not as clear and distinct on my coin as on the PCGS G-4 you posted, But my coin does have a full date , but worn across the top. I am not sure what parts of the coin the graders look at, but I believe the date or lack thereof is an important consideration on the 1916 SLQ.

Side question, from a coin in the auction posted earlier, this one.

Thanks! Here is the craziest lot I've seen yet from this seller:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...i=1&_rdc=1
No, I didn't win it nor did I bid, but that is quite a rare prize for a junk lot.

the 1909 (I think) 3rd row down, second coin from the left. It has a clean stripe through the middle. I have seen this pattern on plenty other coins. Is there recognized reason for this?

Sorry for change of topic. trying to learn where I can.
Rest in Peace

when I first looked at the 18s on page three, it looked like an 8/7.
