Quote: Don't get me wrong - I wish I'd have seen that lot - it was worth more than you paid for it. I'd certainly take a FR-01.54 even. LOL. I think you meant this response fo this thread Keith. I agree in general with your grade, the fractional grade is amusing to me. I wouldnt mind too much if it graded as a 1. Then I would need to find one like Nod's AG-3, and get a 1916 lowball grade set going. Another consideration is to sell both of them, and put it towards something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...TRK:MEWAX:ITor if my dream circ slq ever comes back up for sale(PCGS G-4). I'd trade both of them in any day of the week for this one.

Well, I have confirmation now that they agree that it is a 1916 slq. Now just waiting on the grade. :-)

Quote: bet the give you another FR02 fingers crossed and hoping so. Did you sell your AG03, or are you hanging on to it? If they give mine a PR01, then between the two of us, we can start our own dateless 1916 slq lowball grading set!

I am going to hold onto it for a while. It is the biggest hurdle to completing a melt price SLQ set which I am now working on.

Quote: nice! so how much do you think it could be worth? grade depending? It depends....problem free FR02s usually between $1,100-$1,500 depending on the market and the quality of the coin. I've also seen a PR1 sell for $1,500 too(check the Heritage archives). Several things affect the market. There aren't very many low grade 16s out there. In one sense the demand is high because everyone needs this coin to complete an SLQ set, for both a date only set and a date/mm set. A full dated 1916 slq will be 5K+, so this is one of the few alternatives that are relatively affordable. However, the fact that the coin has no date turns a lot of prospective buyers off thereby limiting the demand. This is a lower end FR02 imho, so I'd expect to get lower 4 figures on it on ebay, but you never know. I'll probably list it as a BIN for a while and see what happens.

Thanks! Here is the craziest lot I've seen yet from this seller: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...77152284&ru=http://shop.ebay.com:80/%3F_from=R40&_npmv=3&_trksid=m570&_nkw=250677152284%2B&_fvi=1&_rdc=1 No, I didn't win it nor did I bid, but that is quite a rare prize for a junk lot.

HOLY SMOKES! A 1901-S in that condition in a junk lot? Wow. That is a great price to have gotten on the lot considering the 01-S alone is worth at least double or triple that amount.
I wonder if the seller hadn't listed the years if the final price would've been lower......
