Quote: I went skiing today, and saw a woman spend a small portrait 10 dollar bill. It was in pretty good condition, too, but I didn't have any money on me to trade. But when I went inside, you'll never believe this, but I found a 20 dollar bill on the floor! I'll take that over a small portrait bill any day! You didn't take the $20 bill you found and go back and get the small face $10?

Once you're out of the lift ticket line, it can take a while to get back to the front. I'm assuming it was just a matter of not waiting 10 minutes to have the chance of exchanging it.

This was at a concession stand, and there was a long line. I didn't want to look weird and ask for change for a 20 because there was an "odd looking 10" someone spent and it was probably either given out as change or buried near the bottom and the odds of me getting it were slim to none.

I'm wondering if this was a good idea, but one thing I received recently from the bank was a 1990 $50 bill. It's in really good condition and doesn't have too many folds like most small portrait bills. I put it away and was debating whether I should keep it since 50 bucks is more money than I've ever set aside at once.

There is always a first! I saved my first $50 about a year ago. Now I have two saved. Probably about seven $20s now too.

I only save the small portraits for applicable notes. I try to save the large portrait black-and-whites, but I spend them if necessary. So far, I only have the 4 twenties that I got last month. For ones and twos, I keep any note from a pre-2000 series.

I was trading bills with someone at school and one of the ones I received was a 2006 B-A bill. I had to look up the printing date and it was printed in April 2007, one of the first 2006s ever produced. Not to mention it's in better condition than most 2006s I receive, and the latter are usually late issue bills (2008-2009 printing).

Yesterday I got a 2003A G-B one (worn but undamaged) and a 2001 CF-B five (great condition save for some writing). I'm keeping them in the back of my wallet for now- I'll avoid spending them if I have other notes.

Very nice. To date, 1988A is the earliest one I have found. I got it as change from Taco Time on one of the two occasions I have been there in the past four or five years.

At a bank I frequent, one of the tellers saved for me a pretty circulated Series 1985 $50. It's nice that she set it aside for me.

Nice find Chip! I've only ever found one non-color $20 in circulation, and that was a 1990 $20 from back in March 2014.
