Not to mention it's from FRB district 11, which seems to be the most uncommon district for me. Ironically, the only bill that was in the $50 in ones yesterday was actually from that district which I put in my collection.

I spent two $1's today on a $2 scratch ticket, one of them was a 1995 that I got as change from a food truck a week ago. I only had two ones on me at the time.

Buuut, the ticket turned out to be a $100 dollar winner. Gladly took that instead.

One occurrence I see a lot is 1999, 2001, or 2003 $1 bills getting given out as change. Yet I never find them in bank straps, and I've searched enough bills at this point to say that's an accurate statement. I guess I'll have to go through a couple hundred more in ones but for now, I'd just like to know why it's hard to find $1 bills from 1999, 2001, or 2003 in bank straps, yet I see them get given out as change all the time.

All excellent! To me, any small head note(other than a $1) is a keeper, unless it is in tatters. I have not seen any in a very long time.

Did you not have the money to trade or the kid refused to trade? If it was the former, I take precautionary measures now and always carry $10 in ones on me (mostly for georging purposes) but if it was the latter, that really blows, most people at my school are happy to exchange "odd" looking money for normal bills.

He really didn't feel like trading...I only had $5 in singles, and I really didn't feel like breaking my '96 $20 that I had. However, I was able to trade today for some J, S, and T block bills (I still need those for Block Letter Bingo).

Calzonemaniac, since you participate in Where's George like me, are there any FRBs or block letters you're still waiting for hits on? I have been doing it for about 9 months and still need hits on the A and J FRB districts and the V, X, and Y block letters. I'm just curious on what your stats are and how long you've been doing it.

UPDATE: I literally JUST got a hit on a 2009 A-C bill, so that leaves the "J" FRB as my only FRB left for a hit! And not to mention it was entered in Arizona, over 2000 miles from my location! (I'm on the east coast)

Yesterday I completed FRB Bingo with J...I still need J, S, T, X, and Y for Block Letter Bingo. A was my second-to-last one too. I've been at it since 03/19/2014, and have 2,500 bills entered with 81 hits.

Let me ask, is there any specific way you mark your bills? I'm just asking since 81 hits isn't too high for that many entries, and from what I've observed, it's because the person isn't being obvious enough stamping the bills. I always write in blue pen "Track this bill!" and "enter year and serial" to the left and right of the portrait respectively and then stamp below the serial number in red ink so it's easily seen.

I primarily use a 3-line stamp on the front and back of the bills, and highlight in green the upper right corners and handwrite a CJ monogram and the date I got the bill...
