I got to look at money today and a kid had a 1996 $20, AH..A (printed in 8/1998). I was able to enter the bill, but not mark it.
There was also a 2003A $1, F..F (printed in 10/2005), but the rest were 2006 or newer.

Remember how I mentioned that I could never seem to get a pre-2009 bill in general change? Well today, I was cashing a check, and of the bills I got, there was a 2006 $20, and a 2006A $100. I didn't even ask for old bills, so it was interesting getting an old design 100 without asking.

Went to a restaurant today, saw when I went to pay that there was an old 5 dollar bill, I couldn't tell if it was 2006 or 1906, just that it wasn't regu
ar. I wanted to see it, and when I was paying I asked if I could exchange it, holding a five dollar bill in my hand. The lady said "What? You mean in the register? If that's what you mean, well it's staying in there, so move along." So no, no old bills in circulation for me today... well actually, I did find it, and that's the topic, finding them. So, I suppose that I did.

That woman was quite rude, I don't see the problem with exchanging a 5 dollar bill if it's gonna get handed out as change sooner or later, and businesses are more than willing to trade their larger bills for some of my EMSed ones.

From a bank, I received a Series 1963A $10 that has seen quite a bit of circulation; there was a tear from the edge of the bill into the top of Hamilton's portrait. In the same transaction, I received a pretty circulated Series 1988 $1. Earlier this week, I got a much better Series 2001 $1 bill, so the old singles are still circulating up here in New Hampshire.

A lot of the hundreds I get are of the older design, mostly series of 1996/1999/2001.

I still have not received a pre-2009 bill in change...

So much for that quote by me holding water! I was cashing a check at the bank today for $108 and of the bills I got, there was a 1996 $50, a 1995 $1 (In mint condition and early production so I'm keeping it) and 2 2006 dollar bills!

I was at Dunkin Donuts and was planning on using a gift card I recently got for my birthday, but after I saw a guy in front of me pay with a dollar that had Withrow's signature on it (she was secretary in the 1990s so the newest the bill could've been was 1999) I decided to get that bill in change, so I payed with a 1999 $10. Well wouldn't you know it, the bill turned out to be a well used 1993, but only the 2nd one I've found in circulation!

I got a 2003A $1, K..G (printed in 3/2007) today as change for a $10.

It was pretty decent condition, a bit worn, but expected for a bill printed 9 years ago.

Surprisingly, it was in better shape than the 2009 B..D bill that came with it, and that one was printed four years later!

This wasn't a bill I received, but I overheard a teller and customer at a bank talking about an "old" $100 the customer was receiving in cash back. The teller mentioned it was a series 1977 note, uncommon but possible given the longevity of $100 notes.

I got to look at a teacher's money for EMSing. She had a $5 for me, and I noticed it was one of the older types without the color. I noticed that it was a 2001 series. I've never entered one since June 6, 2014. It was in the CG..A series for those interested, and I had it EMed. She plans on using it to buy an Icee. Let's hope it gets hit!

Wow... I can only think of one teacher that would let me do that, and that would be my math teacher from last year... Everyone else would think I'm trying to rob them!
