Looks fake just because the lettering doesn't look old enough...

I'll give credit to any seller who says right up front in clear view, "this might be fake, I don't know. Please ask questions."

Even if it's fake. He's a good seller.

It's definitely a fake coin. An honest seller, yes, but unfortunately, ebay punishes honesty. If you had reported this item, ebay Would most likely have removed it, being in violation of the guidelines for selling coins on US ebay:

Quote:
Don't list the item if you're unsure of its origin or authenticity.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

maybe.. if they found the time.. I reported a single seller 8 different times for the a listing violation over a 2 week period, and got an email back today... a week after the last one ended-

i used the regular report link, and the CCF link

i know it's a BIG market to police, and this is one time I feel it worked in the seller's favor

Well, the item sold for $1.99. He did not remove it, as he promised; he did not respond to me; he did not list the weight; he did not acknowledge that it was a fake. Caveat emptor, indeed.
