so I listed my 1913-s type 2 buffalo and its not getting the respect I think it deserves... its only at $3 so far.. I know I have 4 days left on the auction, but this coin in G4 condition with out acid restoration is worth around $300...

i know I will not get even close to that.. but dont you think I would hope to get around $50? should I have started my auction at a higher starting bid?

Give it time. Most people will not bid until the last hour or two. Maybe the last minute or two.
If you bid 4 days ahead and put a high limit it still won't show until someone bids against you. Unfortunetly if your auction ends on Sunday it will not sell for top dollar. Sunday is a
buyers day. Buy on Sunday but never sell on Sunday.

blue, it ends on tuesday...

i mean I would have just put it on the buy forum but I just dont know what a fair price is for these things...being restored and all. I have heard 25-30% of the G4 FMV... but still... I know I hve a good key date coin.. it would just pain me to see it go for WAY less than what its worth, restored or not.

ok, I was counting Thurs-Sun. as the four days. I still think you'll do all right. Someone will
need it for a set and think it's a good deal. Keep us updated though. My wife says I have been wrong before.

It should sell for $25-50 range on ebay where you will reach more people. I'd expect it will end a little lower here and bidders are with-holding their bids because they think they can snipe it cheap in the end.

Generally, the restored key dates go for 1/10th to 1/5th of G-4 FMV.

Patience is a virtue. I think if you wait the price will get closer to what you think it should be, as stated above.

I get more $$$ for the auctions I list to end on Saturday, followed by those that end on Sunday, more than any other day of the week. I have been selling on ebay for 10 years now, and it has been fairly consistent with those two days of the week. My best buying days are Tuesday thru Thursday, before lunch, and while school is in session.

I don't collect these. Not yet anyway. But just curious. Some say a cleaned coin looses most of it's value. How can a chemically restored coin be better than that?

This has been my experience. It does lead to mre of the sniper type of bidding. I do not know why it is that way but that is how it has been for me.At one time I used to sell a lot of CDs on ebay. Not just rock and pop, but classical, country, and everything else. The CDs I had the ended on a Saturday or Sunday always seemed to fetch more $$. I usually try to have mine end on Saturday or Sunday between 3:00pm to 7:00pm. If on a Sunday I may go as late as 9:00pm. Folks are usually winding down from the weekend and getting focused on the week ahead, not usually as much things to preoccupy their time. Smart phones were the best thing to happen to internet auctions.
