I am quite new to coin collecting & have been going through a collection left to me by my father. I came across this Eisenhower coin & can't identify it. All help is appreciated.

Eisenhower-Presidential-Coin?

Please note that the coin is in a plastic case. Not all of the impurities are on the coin, but the plastic.

I found this:

I do know Eisenhower died in 1969, and suspected this was not a coin, but a commemorative medal of some sort. The link to the auction provides a little info about what you have. It's priced at $30 USD.

Yes he did. I went to the funeral in Abilene, KS. Got to see Omar Bradly. Visited his museum but never saw these for sale. Are the authentic?

Omaha, thanks! I couldn't find a thing. I can only imagine that it is authentic. Like I said, it came from my fathers collection that is mostly late 60's / early 70's.

Not a whole lot of references for this specific medal. The ebay link I posted gives a brief history of it. There are numerous mentions of both Karen Worth and The Medallic Art Company. They are still in business, a private mint. I have to assume the medal TheDuke posted is genuine. It is not an issue of the US Mint, but rather, a private mint.

Ironically, he was actually President from 1953-1961. The medal is wrong.
