found this while out metal detecting in wales uk.im not sure if it is a coin,its lead and is 20mm diameter and weighs 8 grams.any help would be appreciated as to put my mind to rest to wether it is an ancient coin. I didnt post a pic of the other side as its just unrecognisable.thanks

If it's lead, it won't be an ancient coin.
It could be a medieval token, a pilgrim's badge (though most are a lot bigger). More likely to be the seal off a sack or a bottle, possibly a flattened musket ball, or just a bit of lead.

Are there no recognisable markings, such as letters or objects at all ?

no nothing like that,i guess it must just be a lump of lead lol.but to hold it in your hand it is more like a coin.there is a lot more relief on it than you can see in the pic.

On the top of the object there appears to be an indented edge. Does there look like there might have been a hole there? If so it could be a lead seal.

no theres no hole,i will probably never know what it is .just doesn't seem like a random piece of lead.thanks anyhow guys

it is very probably a communion token they were almost exclusively struck in lead and were used in mainly scottish churches
