Here is an Israel 10 sheqalim struck on a Canadian nickel planchet, as well as a normal 10 Sheqalim for comparison. The wrong planchet one weighs 4.59 grams or 70.8 grains and is within tolerance of a canadian nickel blank.

"$0.02 Worth" is his handle and his signature, not the coins value

Sorry, $0.02 is all my wife gives me for my opinion...that's why I use that name...inside joke.

I'm sure the value of those coins is substantially more. Probabaly sell for more in Israel...ie ebay. Check there for a sales history of similar coins.

Cheers

good luck finding similar coin. I know there are coins struck on foreign planchets, but an israeli coin on canadian planchet? did either mint ever do work for each other? lets see if an expert chimes in. would be best bet.

No expert but yes, the RCM have minted coins for Israel.

Nice coin Zimmy, I'm clueless on Hebrew (I'm sure the date is there) what is it?

It is a 1982 I believe...1st year minted for this design. While RCM was minting these for Isreal, one of their own nickel blanks ended up in the minting process. I also have same design minted on a Canadian dime planchet.
