Heavy toning can make grading a real challenge. This coin has deep, iridescent rainbow tone on both sides. It's in a small, old ANACS slab. What grade do you think it deserves?

I was thinking the neck had a little wear as well as the hair curl. I also thought there was wear on the feathers. Shows what I know.

pssst, I think if you right click then hit view image, the grade is in the url.

Very surprising to know the grade given. Beautiful coin!

It looks mint state but the trouble with nicely toned coins is that you have a tough time seeing under the toning. I would say MS64.

I'm surprised it gets a 66 with those two nicks in the eagle breast feathers. But the field do appear to be immaculate. Maybe that is more important...
Rest in Peace

I like it at 64, and would pay 64 money all day long. Nice!

Just occurred to me that Washington quarters belong in the Modern coin forum. Oh well, after 11+ years of Statehood, Territories, and National Parks designs the ol' George and Eagle style seems pretty Classic. Anyway, this one earned an MS-66 from ANACS.
