I do not think they will go up as much as the 10th Anv. set. Do to the fact that the popularity of the ASE is so much more then when the 10th anv came out. So there will be more willing to buy them. Also with the number of set minted so high it might be hard for it to go up alot. unless not alot of people but them. the the demand down the road gets higher then maybe. Also with the 100 price tag alot might turn away for this set.

I am planing on buying one just because I love Bullion silver dollars

I would like to hear it, please.

Not sure I can make five great reasons kg2blade, but I'll give it a go.

1. The Mint seems to lend towards $200 per oz. over market value.
2. If gold hits $870 per oz, you would break even at spot bullion.
3. Mint packaging, assuming it comes in a case w/coa
(have not seen a picture yet)should bring the value up a tad.
4. It would make a sister 2006 enhancement to your collection.
5. If you don't have to miss a house payment, wait for the resales

I have been pondering the same set as well, but just can't seem to justify it at this time.
Then again I am still chasing the Buffalo's you have

The three coin silver set will have a special finished coin (Reversed Proof finish will be a first for the mint) along with a regualar Proof finish and a better than average uncirculated finish coin. All three of them will bear the 'w' mint mark.

Thank for the info Dan, this is on the US Mint Website.

From the US Mint Pressroom:
* The three-coin American Eagle 20th Anniversary Silver Coin Set, priced at $100, will contain one coin each of a proof, reverse proof and uncirculated silver eagle. The proof and uncirculated coins will have a "W" mint mark, and the reverse proof will have a "P" mint mark.

I guess there will be only 250,000 2006 ASE with P mint mark...Does this make this set special enough to warrant purchasing 2 sets?

Quite frankly, 250,000 coins is quite a figure. And it's almost certain that a lot of people will be stocking up on these for almost immediate resale, so I don't think that it will increase in price any time soon. Most coins from the mint that increase in value are those that have very low mintages, below 100,000.

I plan on picking up 10 of the silver 3 coin sets and 1 of the 3 coin gold set. I think of all the sets it is the gold set that will have the most likelihood of a significant price increase.

Just my 2 pennys...

All I want is one ASE, preferably in MS-70 condition (as graded by ANACS, NGC, or PCGS) so I can add it to my other ASEs. Just one. At bullion price (well, maybe a little more plus the grading cost).

ASEs are just about the most beautiful coin ever minted (in my humble opinion) except for my beloved Morgans. They have a certain majesty about them to which many coins strive, but seldom reach.

I need it in MS-70 condition to help round out my Mint State reference collection. If I can get an ASE in -70, I'll lack only an MS-67.

I'm not certain if having a collection with all possible grades (P-01 through MS-70, top TPG slabbed, any coin) would count as a type collection, but it sure would be a great teaching collection! I think I have most of the circulated grades covered (P-01 and P-02 are still missing; reckon I'll have to take one of my VF Morgans and put it out in the road for awhile ).

OK. Finally got my order in. I only could afford the Silver set for $100.00 but I am glad I got one. I'm sure these will be for sale for a while because they made a lot.

The Mint site is workin fine now, as I had no problems at all placing my orders.

Had to buy three sets of the silver eagle coin sets in order to get the reverse finish coin. Already have three of the 1995W eagles so needed three of these to complete the mint sets. Guess I'll just give the other two out as gifts to friends and relatives needing something to talk about.

We weren't going to buy a set because we don't have a spare $100 laying around. However, Thank Goodness for credit!!!!

My wife started trying to place our order at 10 a.m. our time, and I think she said it took a dozen tries before she finally got through.

Anyway, we got our order taken!!!!
