Hello everyone, had an awesome week searching Quarters, I searched 6 boxes this week only one was a skunk for W's I also Pulled 1-64 Washington, that is my 5th Silver quarter since I started searching for the West Point Quarters. So out of the 5 boxes I pulled 9 W's, 4-2019W Lowell's, 1-2019W American Memorial, 2-2019W San Antonio, 1-2020W Weir Farm, and 1-2020W Tallgrass. I also pulled 1-1970D Struck on a Dime Planchet,(Damaged). Also pulled a bunch of Varieties, 6 Claw Bears, Die Chis in 1896 on a Utah Quarter, Major Die Chip on the Nevada Horse's rear legs, Homestead Leaking Bucket (B), Homestead Snow on Roof. It was a very productive search this week. Just a quick note, the rotated dies and Missing clad quarters are still out there. My friend just started searching quarters after I was sharing what I was doing, he searched $1500.00 worth and pulled out a Michigan 90 degree rotated die, and a Vermont missing clad on reverse. I have searched over $30,000 in quarters and haven't found one of those yet. The best find so far is the 1970D on a Dime Planchet. Keep up the search. PM me if you want to trade W's.

Ijn1944 you were quick on the draw, I was loading the photos when you replied. Not sure how to load photos while I type in the comment box. I have to load the comment first, hit the edit button and than load photos. Does anyone know how to do it differently?

I wrote my statement then use the free sizing to size the pit tires after crop then choose file upload and send reply. Don't take as long as it used to after learning some of this computer stuff. NICE FINDS! Shame on that 1970 D being damaged, however still a great coin to add to the collection.

It may be because I'm extra hungry at the moment; but, I'm thinking that '70 D quarter wasn't struck on a dime planchet. A typical dime weighs in at around 2.27 grams. Could we see a photo of the quarter side-by-side with a circulated dime? Throw a nickel into the pic too. Thanks!

I think he meant struck on dime stock. Well-known error for the 1970-D quarters.

oops I guess I have to be more careful how I write things up. Reading an article from US coins September 2016 they talk about planchets and stock. Depending how one receives the information, can confuse stock and planchet. Based on the reading I should have called it a thin planchet in stead of dime planchet. So to help others, stock is the material used for any given coin and a planchet is the actual size of the coin cut from that Stock. Yet if one thinks about it, if dime stock was cut into quarter sizes, is it not still a large dime planchet used to mint quarters since the stock wasn't intended for quarters. Here is one quote for the article. "There occasionally is variation in the thickness of coinage stock. A couple of tenths of a gram heavier, and these coins would be described simply as "struck on a thin planchet." Just my thought. I will try to be more careful when writing my description. Because there are times when coins are struck on the wrong Planchet rather than stock. LOL. UGH!!! LOL

Bought $840 worth of quarters yesterday and found 1 Weir Park (Connecticut) 2020-W coin, and (very surprisingly) two silvers (1962-D, 1964-D)!
Quarter-Roll-Searching

Of note, the "W" and the 1962-D were found amongst the $510 worth of CWR. The 1964-D was among the $330 worth of MWR.
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!
