A batch of 2400 quarters purchased on Saturday brought me a 2020-W Tallgrass (amongst 44 MWR), and this unexpected foreign coin: a hard-to-find 1948 Belgium 5 Francs coin in one of the 16 CWR in the group! Not in the best shape, but still probably a $2-$3 coin!
Fantastic!

Nice finds, John77. Glad you were able to find some silver.

I've heard it's very tough to find silver quarters in MWR in some locations. I find about 1 every 4 or 5 boxes, but boxes with 2 or 3 are not terribly uncommon.

Quarters are searched a lot, so I say those are nice stats!

ijn1944, I did, but it didn't help a ton... unfortunately, there's a hint of corrosion on the surface which limited the effectiveness of the acetone.

TomM, the silver finds are VERY sporadic in both the MWR and CWR for me. It's about 1 every 10K coins for me here in SoCal as well regardless of the roll type. Interestingly, my find rate for coins bought in the Vegas area has been much higher - like one every 5K coins searched to this point.

My intention when I started searching the quarters more was to search for West Point coins - anything else, including silver, was just a bonus. It's been quite enlightening to see all of the modern S-mint proof and uncirculated coins circulating as much as they do.

I was going to slow down on doing quarters at 100 W coins found, but I've found it is easier for me to dump batches of nickels when I also have some quarters with me (banks are always needing quarters), so I'm just going to keep at it until further notice.
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

Good Day Everyone, While searching for W's last week I pulled these two GEMS, now don't hate, I think they are GEMS, they are in outstanding shape for being in circulation for over 52 years for one for 44 years. To see coins in this good of shape after all these years. I will call them GEMS. Just enjoy the photos, no hate required.

Nice find, arby96. Glad you are searching quarters again.

I agree John77, a major reason I still search quarters is due to the ease of dumping them. Most banks seem genuinely happy to receive quarters, and are often willing to trade searched quarters for CWRs of dimes - my favorite rolls to search.

My last twelve quarter boxes contained:

Box 1 (actually a $500 bag): 1 1960-D silver
Box 2 (Brinks): 1 2020-W Salt River Bay
Box 3 (Brinks): 1 2019-W River of No Return, 1 1964-D silver
Box 4 (Titan): nothing
Box 5 (Brinks): 1 1963-D silver, 1 1964-D silver
Box 6 (CWR): nothing
Box 7 (Brinks): 1 2019-W River of No Return
Box 8 (Brinks): 1 2019-W San Antonio Missions
Box 9 (Laundry): nothing
Box 10 (Titan): 2020-W Marsh Billings, 2020-W Salt River Bay
Box 11 (Brinks): 1 2019-W River of No Return,1 2020-W Tallgrass Prairie
Box 12 (Titan) 1 1947-D silver

A little above average for silver, about average for Ws. I'm happy with the results.

Dang - that's pretty good around here. I've gone through well over $5K in quarters with NO silvers and only 2 Ws, so your searches look great from where I sit!
