Yesterday I was at the strip mall where my old credit union office is located. I no longer have an account but I went in to ask about half dollars. After checking with her colleagues my teller said they had a total of $4 worth of halves. She asked for my account number and I confessed I didn't have one. It was "against policy" but she sold me the coins anyway. Here are the highlights from the 8 coin lot:

Somebody apparently deposited their 1968, 1969, and 1971 proof sets as well as a 1970 mint set. This is my second 1970-D Kennedy find (the first was just a few weeks ago) and it's the first time I've found any silver-clad proofs. The 1969-S is particularly nice, with very little circulation signs and attractive toning. All the proofs retain a lot of original mirror finish. The 1970-D has an oddly weak strike at the eagle's tail; I wonder if this is common for this date, or maybe there was a partially-filled die?

In any case, I think this calls for some fruit!
